The Spirituous Preparations (Inter-State Trade and Commerce) Control Act, 1955 may be repeal.

 The Spirituous Preparations (Inter-State Trade and Commerce) Control (Repeal) Bill, 2006 was passed by the Parliament. After being assented by the President, the same  was  published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 1, dated the 22nd August, 2006 as Spirituous Preparations (Inter-State Trade and Commerce) Control (Repeal) Act, 2006  (Act No. 32 of 2006)

Proposal to amend the Forward Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1952

The Cabinet approved the proposal for the amendments to The Forward Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1952.

The Forward Contracts (Regulation) Bill  was introduced in the Lok Sabha on 21.03.2006. The Bill was referred to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Food, Consumer Affairs & PD. The Committee submitted its Report on 19.12.2006.  After examination of recommendations of the Committee, a Note for Cabinet for official amendments in the Forward Contracts Regulation (Amendments) Bill, 2006 was sent to the Cabinet Secretariat for consideration. The Cabinet in its meeting held on 3-5-2007advised to carry out wider consultations with all stakeholders including the political parties and submit the revised note thereafter. After compliance of the instructions of the Cabinet a fresh Cabinet Note was submitted on 11.01.2008.

Proposal to amend the Forward Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1952

In order to give autonomy to the Forward Market commission and to amend the FCR Act, 1952, The Cabinet approved the proposal to promulgate an ordinance to meet the requirement. In addition, the Cabinet approved the proposal to withdraw the Forward Contracts (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2006 introduced in Lok Sabha on 21.03.2006 and to introduce a fresh Bill to replace the said Ordinance in the Parliament.

The Forward Contracts (Regulation) Amendment Ordinance, 2008 was promulgated on 31.1.2008. In order to replace the said Ordinance, a fresh  Bill, The Forward Contracts (Regulation) Amendment Bill 2008 was introduced in Lok Sabha on 13.03.2008. The earlier FCR (A) Bill , 2006 which was pending in the Lok Sabha, was withdrawn simultaneously.
